THE ORGANIZER

FREDLINK AVENTURE SAFARIS was founded in 1997 and is managed by Frédéric Poinçon, a French expatriate who has been living in Kenya since 1994. FREDLINK AVENTURE SAFARIS is a Kenyan Tour Operator based in Diani Beach, south of Mombasa. Before becoming a safari Tour Guide and Tour Operator, Frédéric worked in France as a biologist and then carried out logistics missions in East Africa with a humanitarian organisation. Four persons are currently fully engaged and are in charge of coordinating and monitoring the safaris from our offices in Diani.

Several teams of drivers, guides and professional cooks are sent to the field to guide and accompany the participants of Fred's safaris.

THE VEHICLES

Two types of vehicle are available to go with on safari, depending on your budget: a 4x4 vehicle or a minibus.

The Land cruiser 4x4 has a maximum capacity of 8 passengers. Its interior is spacious with good window visibility and a panoramic pop-up sunroof. Its ability to navigate on secondary and wet terrain off the main road is excellent. It is the ideal vehicle for exploring a park off the beaten track as a family.

The minibus has a maximum capacity of 8 passengers and is more economical than the 4x4. More compact than the 4x4, it is nevertheless suitable for families and has a panoramic pop-up sunroof. This vehicle is lighter and moves faster on road links compared to the 4x4.

THE ACCOMMODATION STRUCTURES ON SAFARI

There are various types of safari accommodation structures, depending on your desire for comfort, how close you would like to be to nature, budget and whether you are a couple or a family: lodge, permanent camp, guest house or bungalow Banda and tent camping .

The lodges

The lodges are permanent structures built in parks or close by and have a capacity of beds more than 80. They are thus large structures relatively frequented and attract many tourists, especially in the peak season. Although they are in the middle of wild spaces in nature, lodges are generally fenced off and have all the comfort and services of a hotel: telephone, internet, swimming pool, gift shops...

The structure is booked and reserved for your exclusive use, a professional cook from our organization is on hand to prepare the meals while you go for game drives in search of the animals in the company of the guide.

THE GUEST HOUSES OR BUNGALOW BANDAS

The parks' guest houses or bungalows bandas are structures managed by the authorities of the parks and are made available to the visitors, offering a basic comfort in the middle of the park. Most of them are old park rangers' houses converted into a guest house with several rooms and equipped with beds, a bathrooms, and toilets, running water, kitchen and dining room, which are specially renovated for tourism and are particularly suitable for safaris with family. This formula is not only a private alternative but also budget friendly alternative to the lodges and camps.

The structure is booked and reserved for your exclusive use, a professional cook from our organization is on hand to prepare the meals while you go for game drives in search of the animals in the company of the guide.

THE PERMANENT TENTED CAMPS

The Permanent Tented Camps are smaller and more private structures (with less than 60 beds), are closer to nature and more authentic because they are often open and well blended in the natural environment of the site. The tightly sealed canvas tents have enough space to feature a room with fitted with a bed and built-in private bathroom, sometimes built in semi-permanent stone slabs or on wooden piles and sheltered under a bungalow roof. The camps include a sheltered bar and restaurant in a mess tent.

There are different categories of camps depending on your budget: simple and natural structures to luxury high-end chic camps that are very comfortable and decorated with art and with great refinement.

THE TENT CAMPING

For a total immersion in nature, we recommend the tent camping. We have all the material and equipment for you enjoy an authentic stay safely, in the heart of the African savannah off the beaten track.

A professional cook stays on the premises to prepare meals while you are out on a game drive looking for animals in the company of your guide. In the evening, we light a camp fire around which we have dinner on a folding table with folding seats. We bring our own lighting which are solar powered lamps.

We provide reinforced and tightly sealed double domes tents, foam mattresses, sleeping bags and pillows.

- "Special Camp Sites”, where we have exclusive use and are totally autonomous in the wilderness, in a wild corner of the park. A toilet and a shower cabin are provided and set up by us. We bring the water we need to the site. The wild site is reserved for your exclusive use.
